AMFisH blog post – don’t wait too long to do those fishing trips.

Hi AMFisHers!   This AMFisH fishing blog post is a reminder not to have fishing trips of your life to do list for too long.   I have been interested in fishing since I was a little kid and would see guys like Bill Dance and Hank Parker on TV fishing in Texas for big old bass, since that young age I knew I would one day have to go to Texas to catch “huge” bass!

Well it stayed on my list of things to do throughout my teens, early twenties, late twenties and into my thirties, not sure why I did not do it sooner as I knew I wanted to go but for some reason I would always look into the trip but never get around to planning it.

Do I regret it taking so long for me to finally head down there NO, because I finally did it a few years ago and man what a trip it was!   Here is Canada there is pretty much no chance in catching a double digit largemouth bass as there are very few if any out there BUT in places like Texas where the bass can spawn up to 3 to 4 times in a year they have the ability to grow well into high double digits.

It was a great experience as I caught my personal best largemouth bass that was close to the 7lb mark and I met a great humble fisherman by the name of Tommy Hagler(www.hagstornadobait.com) who was nothing shy of a gentleman the entire trip.   He is a well known guide near Austin Texas who also manufactures some pretty cool soft plastic baits called Hag’s Tornado baits, be sure to check them out at the link above.

So what did I get out of this trip, I spent time away relaxing and doing what I love most which is fishing, I met a great person who I still keep in touch with to this day and most importantly I took that trip off my to do list after being on there for about 15 years, that in itself felt amazing!

Start getting some of those to do list fishing trips off you list so you can make some room for new ones!
