Hi AMFisHers! This AMFisH fishing blog post is about that one amazing bait we all have that catches all species of fish, even on those hard days!
If you don’t have one of these baits figured out yet just take a look back at what bait always catches fish and catches a variety of fish for you, that is the bait you are looking for.
Mine is the CC shad crankbait from Cotton Cordell, in a black/silver colour pattern(see pic below). This bait catches everything even on a tough outing. It works well casting it, trolling it, pausing it, you name it when this bait is in the water fish go after it with various presentations.
Once you have a bait like this your confidence level increases about 210%, WHY well it’s simple you have a bait that you can turn to when catching a fish looks grim, that in itself is kind of like having a get out of jail free card!
I can’t stress how important it is to figure out what bait or baits you can have as these “go to” baits that will help you keep your spirits high on a not so good day. Now there will be times when fish are really turned off of striking or feeding so I am not saying this bait will catch on any outing, I am merely saying it will be the bait you try when everything else has not worked.
I have a few on my list and I can tell you when it comes to grabbing and using them I get that really positive feeling that overcomes me, as I know I will be successful by using them and if for any reason I still don’t catch fish it was not meant to be that day BUT I used my most powerful fishing baits which makes getting skunked a little easier to accept.
