Even more on fishing tubes…

As I mentioned in my previous post’s tubes are really great smallmouth bass baits, BUT they can also be used to catch largemouth bass as well!   The can be texas rigs, rigged wacky style or on a shaky head jig, either way the key thing to these baits if the swirling sink, pretty cool motion for sure.

Another tip is the tube has a hollow body so you can bait the inside, what I mean by this is stick a piece of real worm, minnow or even a foam earplug cut into a smaller piece then soaked in your favorite fish scent.  You can even attach a tiny rattle to the hook inside or if the rattle has a larger diameter you can stick it inside by the lead jig head and it will be secure there tapping away mimicking a crayfish fussing around at the bottom of the lake.

The earplug option is quite unique because when it is pushed inside the tube you actually trap some air making the bait sink with an even slower swirl.  As well the scented piece of earplug with leave a slow scent trail to the bait, this will secure some commitment from fish for sure, looks real now you add a real smell to will definitely keep the fish interested !

Smallmouth fishing is quite exciting, the jump sometimes before you can even notice them doing so, and the fight from even a small fish feels great because they have so much head strength.  The rod in the water tip is something to always be done with those trophy fish on the line, big ones like that jumping around can sure find their way off you hook.

These are relatively inexpensive baits that do produce fish, will definitely be doing some video blogs on my website pertaining to smallmouth bass baits and even more tips for some other ways to catch them.
