We need to remember that fish will move around, searching for food, water temperature with better oxygen levels, cover for safety or ambushing feed. There is nothing worse then casting one bait that runs one depth, in one area again and again, building that frustration level up more and more.
Observe the water, if you see bait fish near the surface of the water or see any fish breaching take a chance and trying something on the surface. They key is to work each level until you find what is working, this also goes for the baits you are throwing as well. Try a smaller running crankbait after a larger crankbait that just ran at the same depth.
In most cases it is the simple little tweaks that will result in you catching more fish. Just like us, imagine eating the same food again and again it’s get’s old ans borring, well fish are the same, they will quickly change over to hitting a larger bait when they were just hitting a smaller one.
Follow what is happening and try to adapt to the changes, this will result in a great fishing day as this level system is what I follow every outing and I have lots of fishing pictures to prove it ! ! !
