When taking kids fishing the best approach is to keep in down right “simple” ! Some worms or minnows, some floats, a fun little kids fishing rod(usually bullet casting reel) or some line on a basic fishing pole.
At a young age is strictly about keeping it fun, having them cast lures is a little much especially for youngsters under 11 years old, why well the frustration of not using that lure exactly as it is to be used can kick in causing for a frustrating fishing day.
Let them have some fun catching pan fish on some worms, bringing smiles to their young faces, that is what is all about !
From there some very basic grasshopper, bumble bee little crank baits can be used that will result in some other species striking BUT again for the first while keep in as simple as possible.
