Hi fishing world ! = ) This weeks AMFisH fishing video blog is about ice fishing and why it does not need to be expensive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dJi0NpIvnQI
I have never been a winter person but over the last few years I get the itch to fish during the winter so I got into ice fishing and slowly but surely it was yet another learning for me.
Does it need to be expensive, “ABSOLUTELY NOT” ! As you will see in this video I have a small tackle tray filled with some soft scented plastic baits, some small crank baits, bobbers, hooks, jigging spoons, sinkers, the usual ice fishing baits.
I also own four ice fishing rods that cost anywhere from $9.00 to $15.00 each, so there you go less then $50.00 to $60.00 investment(can be less if you want) and you are ready to go !
Any hobby can end up costing and arm & leg if you let it, so if you follow the rule of getting only what you need it will help keep your costs much lower.
Get out there and enjoy some ice fishing, it is actually a great social things as well I met lot’s of fishing people last weekend and plan on doing the same during this weekend’s outing.
In this video I also share some tips of what works well for ice fishing when it is slow, try the drop shot rig with live bait it works “amazing” !
