Hi AMFisHers! This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog is about allowing your fishing your gear to do it’s job: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yvxty71r1C8
This is a vlog I wanted to shoot as I have witnessed people that have fished with me that do not allow their gear to do what it is made to do.
There is no need to torque with all your strength thinking you will cast further when I most cases you may actually snag something behind you and snap a rod in half. Fishing rods are designed to whip forward so the simple way of casting further is to increase the length of your fishing rod, example a 5ft fishing rod will not allow you to cast as far as a 7ft fishing rod, so keep the shorter rods for applications like shorter tight spot casts and flipping.
Your longer fishing rods will definitely add to further casts so that should be the application for anything in the 6ft 6” length or higher. When it comes to the whip of the rod that is in the top 8 to 10 inches of the fishing rod known as the tip area, more bend more whip, stiffer tip less whip.
The key point to this video is to learn to allow your fishing gear to work for you not against you.
Hope you found this vlog helpful!
