Hello AMFisHers! This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog is about not being scared to modify your baits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KtH9W36lhpU
Over the years all fisherman develop little tricks here and there and I have been modifying baits slight for a long while now. I shot this video this past winder while ice fishing as I wanted to share this with all of you.
Does this mean baits don’t work out of the package, ABSOLUTELY NOT all it means is fish become accustomed to seeing things over and over again, little tweaks here and there help us work around that.
Some of you might be thinking how can I modify a bait, well here are some examples: trim the skirt of a spinnerbait, cut a worm down a few inches, attach a weight to a big pike bait, draw red gill plate lines on the head of a swimbait, the list goes on and on.
These are great subtle and not so subtle ways of modifying baits, but the purpose of this post is not to be scared to do so. When this is thought out and done correctly you will not ruin a bait at all, you are just customizing it to a different look or function.
Hope you found this vlog helpful so get cracking and make some baits your own!
