Hello fellow AMFisHers! I have a great vlog up this week that’s all about fishing ambush points:http://youtu.be/yT6XRZ-frSk
There are so many things to focus on while fishing and it does take some time to learn then all but when it comes to fishing ambush points and understanding if you know how to do this, you can really produce some good quality catches!
Now what is an ambush point? Where do you find them? What are you looking for? Any hidden area can be used as an ambush point by a fish and I can be as simple as a small pile of reeds in the water. The main ambush points are structure with key ones being rocks piles, sunken branches, sunken trees, docks, boat houses, drop off ledges, docked boats, floating docks, pretty much anything that is submerged that can offer a hiding place for a predator.
In this vlog I am fishing a shoreline with covered in reeds/weeds and the ambush points here are the sunken in pockets of those reed/weeds. Just because you are casting to shore is does not mean the water is only a few inches deep, in most cases under the shoreline weeds you can find sunken ledges that offer a great ambush point. I was casting at every ambush point I could find, a sunken log, branches, think pile of weeds, two big rocks close together, a deep pocket within the weeds, you name it I cast at it.
There have been numerous times where I have casted to areas like this and every 15 to 20 feet there was a huge bass hiding that came out and attacked my bait.
Ambush points are a very key thing to fishing, learn to pick up on them and I am sure they will pay off for you!
Hope you found this vlog helpful.
