There are some safety reasons like protection from the sun and protection from flying baits coming for your face due to a missed hook set, BUT there are many fishing benefits to wearing them.
The glare is cut down completely allowing you to see structure like sunken trees and stumps, you can also see schools of bait fish and various types of bait swimming around. You will also be able to see the fish you are trying to catch!
Polarized sunglasses are a “must” for anyone who hits the lakes to fish and you can pick up a pretty good pair by Rapala or Strike King for under $15.00, maybe even a second pair to keep on hand should a pair go missing. As an AMFisHer you don’t need to spend lots of money on the best pair that is out there, start with a decent pair under $20 and down the road should you want to upgrade to a different shade/colour/price range you can.
Big plus is the amount of squinting you will prevent, which will also cut down on the headache you would get from the squinting.
Far too many advantages to wearing them with the only disadvantage being the racoon eye tan lines you will get if you do not take them off here and there!
Give them a try and watch what happens when it comes to how much more you can see.
