This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog – small fish will hit a “BIG” bait!

Hi AMFisHers!  This weeks AMFisH fishing vlog is a short clip about small fishing hitting big baits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktrW3mima1c&feature=player_embedded

There will be days where you fish with your regular size bass baits and nothing will be interested in attacking them, which is why I always talk about the level fishing system and using different baits throughout the day, this includes different sizes as well.

I shot this short vlog a while ago and that entire day I only used my tri-coloured Mepps musky bucktail, it was the only size bait in a few different colours that was working and I caught pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass on these large baits all day!

I was fortunate enough to have had this small smallmouth bass attack as well, which made for a quick turn on of the video camera to show you all that small fish the size of the bait you are using sometimes will actually go after something much larger than they are.

This musky bucktail bait has two pretty large treble hooks on it and the bass was hooked on the back hook with all barbs stuck in his mouth, pretty crazy as the mouth of this fish had the diameter of the back treble hook.

Just goes to show that fish have various feeding patterns and we can’t tell unless we test them out, so be sure to try various sizes on every outing, you may just find the pattern that works and be the only person catching fish!

Hope you found this post helpful.
