Turn your volume up when watching this video, it was extremely windy and even with the wind sock I made for my video camera the wind still managed to try and sound my voice out. The content was good so I decided to air this video even with the patchy sound spots.
I have written about this before and decided it was important to communicate it in a video, that way you can all see how to approach fishing in very strong wind.
It’s extremely difficult to fish on those crazy windy days, especially in a boat so the trick it to resort to the fishing style you can actually enjoy. This involves finding a good pocket in the wind tunnel and trying to stay there.
Once you find that magic spot your boat can drift along the shoreline as you cast with the wind and retrieve back, keep in mind that on very windy days big schools of baits fish will be pushed along various areas of the lake so confusing your bait within those schools can result in some great catches!
If you are casting from shore forget about casting into the wind, save yourself the headaches of the wind controlling your bait/casts, turn the other way and cast with the wind slowly moving around the lake always casting with the wind.
This way your will get some very long casts with the help of the wind and hopefully run into some fish.
