Ever heard of the “MATCH THE HATCH” theory ? Well I took this picture as most people talk about it but never really reference an example for others.
Match the hatch is when you match baits to species of bait fish in the lakes you fish. I have written a few blog posts about it and decided it was time for a good picture example.
As you can see my soft plastic minnow bait is almost virtually identical to the bait fish the lake supplies for people ice fishing. Try matching the colour and most importantly the size, this is called matching the hatch and it definitely increases your chances of catching fish !
Give it a try I have been doing stuff like this since I was little watching all the fishing shows, it works and works well if I may say so.
