Here is the muskie drawing part of the sign, you will be looking for 6 to 9 pores per side on a muskie with an overall appearance of silvery/gray colour with vertical stripes and other variations should you catch a tiger muskie that is a breed of pike/muskie in one.

Some other identifiers are that muskie physically look stronger then pike, harder outside gill plates, stronger heavier overall body structure as well.   Think of it like comparing a regular shark species to a great white, structure is similar but the species on the top of the food chain is much stronger and built better to be at the top of the food chain.
